Pattern Placement
Instructor Troy Judd and Manual H.S. students. Each 10' wide section had 6 rows of 2' x 10' patterns placed from bottom to top. Charcoal powder was pounced through the perforated pattern which transfered the line drawings onto the wall. Sharpie markers were then used to draw the outlines.
As creative director and technical consultant for the Lilly Day of Service Mural Project 2009, it was wonderful to again work with so many individuals commited to the improvement of Indianapolis and its neighborhoods. The Lilly volunteers were great, and extremely well organized. Everyone expressed their excitement for the project and pleasure in participating. The Key School students were great to work with, helping to place the patterns on the D Loop wall by the Zoo in preparation for the 20th. Manual H.S. students that patrticipated last year also helped with patterns on the Morris Street tunnels. Linder Design created all the patterns and helped with pattern placement over two weeks with help from Lilly employees, Herron art students and Key and high school students. I designed 18 murals for 7 community centers, William Penn, Mary Rigg, Concord, Southeast, Brightwood,Goodwin and MLK and the Indy Parks pool located at School 46, designed the Roger's Pool murals based off of several 1925 photos of Broad Ripple Park, and extended a Broad Ripple H.S. sudent's art concept and style for the mural on the Westfield wall.
